Concrete Scanning and GPR
Tri-state Concrete Scanning utilizes ground penetrating radar (GPR) to see through asphalt and concrete structures and detect subsurface objects such as rebar, pipes, post tension cables, electrical conduits and voids. GPR technology also provides 2 dimensional and 3D subsurface reflections which are used to determine the condition and thickness of the material examined. Our professional technicians use detailed mapping diagrams to provide reliable real-time data for clients who need to evaluate, cut out or core drill through concrete structures. This non-destructive evaluation of concrete will preserve the structural integrity of the building by locating and preventing damage to post tension cables and rebar.
Some of our specific services include:
- Locate rebar in the subsurface of concrete
- Post-Tension Cable locating and mapping
- Conduit locating (using both GPR and EMF detector)
- Concrete inspection – locate metallic and non-metallic targets in walls, floors, ceilings etc.
- Structure inspection – bridges, monuments, walls, towers, tunnels, balconies, garages, decks
- Measure slab thickness
- Void location
Glass and Stainless Steel Railings
Whatever an architect or designer can envision, we can help turn into a reality. We offer infinite possibilities for putting together trendy, functional and versatile railing system designs. We provide a complete end-to-end solution of stainless steel cable, glass and bar railing systems for interior designers, architects, contractors and DIY customers. We use only precision manufactured components to ensure optimum installation and function. In most cases they can be assembled with superior glue, eliminating the need for costly, messy welding and making the railing project cleaner, faster, simpler and more profitable.
The usual cycle for projects is the following:
- You send us pictures/drawings/dimensions. Our in-house estimating department will provide you with the added benefit of streamlining cost and time. Our estimators will work directly with your staff to take the broad strokes of your project and make it both feasible and economical while complementing the customer’s vision
- We return Autocad drawings to the customer for approval or modification with optimum design components from various sources called out.
Concrete Testing and Inspection
IGE maintains a wide assortment of concrete research and testing equipment. From our microscopes to our 400,000 lb. hydraulic testing machine, our certified technicians are trained to operate each machine to ensure accurate and reliable data. IGE is capable of performing most standard ASTM tests involving concrete, aggregate, mortar or cementitious material. Our laboratory technicians are certified through the American Concrete Institute (ACI) as Concrete Field Testing Technicians and Concrete Laboratory Testing Technicians.
ASTM tests and methods performed by IGE on concrete
- C1064/C1064M - Temperature of Freshly Mixed Hydraulic-Cement Concrete
- C172 - Sampling Freshly Mixed Concrete
- C143/C143M - Slump of Hydraulic-Cement Concrete
- C138/C138M - Density (Unit Weight), Yield, and Air Content (Gravimetric) of Concrete
Concrete Cutting and Drilling
Core drilling is the process of drilling of circular holes in reinforced concrete, precast concrete, CMU, asphalt, brick and other structural materials. These holes are usually used for electrical, mechanical, plumbing, sewer and sprinkler installations. At Tri-state Concrete Scanning, we use core bits made from diamond segments that are mounted on a rotating shaft powered by a rig mounted drilling machine or a hand held drill. Our core bits can be drilled at any angle and great depths can be achieved. We service all size jobs from large to small and every job is completed to our customer's satisfaction and cleaned up.
Some of our specific services include:
- Core drilling holes from 1" diameter to 12" diameter
- Hand sawing and chain sawing of concrete
- Breaking, chipping / demolition and removal of concrete
- Wall sawing and wire sawing
- Concrete Grinding
Utility Location
Utility location is the process of identifying and labeling public utility mains which are underground. These mains may include lines for telephones, electricity distribution, natural gas, cable television, fiber optics, traffic lights, street lights, storm drains, water mains, and sewage pipes. In some cases we even find major oil and gas pipelines, national defense communication lines, mass transit, rail and road tunnels underground. At, Tri-state Concrete Scanning we use electromagnetic transmitter and receiver for metal and radio-detection and GPR for non-metal lines.
Some of our specific services include:
- Clear drilling locations for utilities or other potential drilling / excavation obstructions
- Find broken connections in utility lines for repair or replacement
- Create or update a utility map at whole site location for future records
- Locate electrical or other utility conduits as well as rebar embedded in concrete prior to drilling/cutting.
